‘GEEK SIDE STORY!’

May 17, 2012 By evg

Eyemouth and District Youth Group are delighted to announce their next show ‘Geek Side Story’.  The musical play is a spin off from the classic tale of ‘West Side Story’ but instead of the Sharks and the Jets, the modern day battle takes place between the Geeks and the Wags!  The battle is to decide who is the coolest gang in school which will be decided by whoever wins the local talent show that night.  The story follows the leader of each gang, Georgie (geek) and Chelsea (wag), in their struggle to find out what really is cool – does being  ‘normal’ even exist?

The show has been written specially for the group, to give as many of the youngsters as possible, their chance to shine.  With such a wealth of talent in the group, it was important to do a show that gave them their opportunity in the spotlight.  With a huge range of songs from ‘West Side Story’ to ‘Pink’ from ‘The Blues Brothers’ to ‘The Sugababes’, we hope this show will appeal to an audience of all ages.

PERFORMANCE DATES:  10th and 11th July 2012

PERFORMANCE TIME:     7pm – TBC
